Interpreting and Implementing Starch Digestibility Information in the Field

The proceedings paper from the 2009 Cornell Nutrition Conference reviews concepts of starch digestibility with particular reference to CPM Dairy and CNCPS. It has been observed by looking at fermentation data and other nutrient characteristics of silages over time that the fermentation process often does not stabilize until four to five months after ensiling. The data from the 2009 crop year is consistent with this observation.
