The following link provides summaries of mycotoxin and mold identification evaluations of feed determined on samples at CVAS from 10-1-09 through 12-7-09. A “Northeast” summary of mycotoxin incidence is available as well. We will continue to update this information periodically.

CVAS subscribes to Bipea

Cumberland Valley Analytical Services recently subscribed to Bipea, a European laboratory proficiency testing organization. Bipea provides a number of check testing programs including ones for forages, feeds, and silages (www.bipea.org).
Due to significant increases in costs associated with operations of the laboratory, CVAS must institute a price increase.

CVAS is now offering a more extensive fermentation analysis which includes alcohols, acetates, and lactates. We were the first forage laboratory in the U.S. to commercially offer a “fermentation analysis” package more than 10 years ago…
